Conscious Writing
ABOUT
The Conscious Writing platform artfully combines knowledge and experience to facilitate the effective utilization of public health and nutrition programs and resources. It is conceptualized and developed by Sneha Rout, after several years of work in the public health and nutrition domain. It aims to provide tools for better expression, increasing awareness and empowering masses about customary and cultural significance of food, public health, art and innovation.
Sneha is a public health nutritionist and researcher who spent her initial years focusing on prevention of severe acute malnutrition in children below five years of age. With time, her skills and interests extended to maternal and child health, grant writing, project management, data and quality improvement, implementation science, as well as the monitoring and evaluation of nutrition programs. She has attempted innovative social approaches in her fieldwork, with the aim of redefining issues related to malnutrition that lead to long-term sustainable changes in behavior.
In the realm of public health, she understood the value of equipping individuals with useful knowledge resources, enabling them to proactively identify and tackle the challenges they wish to address themselves. To address this, she integrated narrative and design thinking methods to facilitate self-expression and to identify challenges related to health and nutrition behaviors. Sneha has employed poetry, storytelling, and narratives as powerful tools to capture people's experiences and insights.
